Concert Goers

Work work work is all Luke and I seem to do these days. Last week Luke decided we should stop working and become avid concert goers. His absolute favorite band is Yellowcard, he and his brother, Jakob, have been fans for years! So when he heard  they were playing in Salt Lake he purchased tickets right away! usually Luke goes to concerts with his brother but since his brother is serving a mission in Estonia, he was stuck with me! I'm not a big Yellowcard fan but I admit it had such a good time! it was a new experience for me, crowd surfers, people jumping all over the place, shoving us to get to the front, and the worst part was this couple that had no sense of dignity! they were ALL over each other  it was disgusting .. but Yellowcard were so entertaining! Luke knew every word to their songs, we would dance and rock out to the music it was so fun!! Maybe once Christmas season is over we might have to listen to Yellowcard more often!

Luke also bought tickets to go see the Killers two nights later (I was deaf for days). Brandon Flowers was so talented and entertaining! They had an amazing light show throughout the concert! I actually knew most of their songs. We were dancing and singing all night! I am a Killers fan...

Thank you Derek for joining us for a fun weekend!

Weekend Getaway

This weekend Luke and I packed up and took a quick trip to St. George. We stayed in my grandparents Sand Hollow house, we are so glad they let us stayed there. Luke had never been to St. George before, crazy I know but he loved it! He was amazed at the red rock and especially the red sand! The weekend was full of lots of swimming, hiking, and sun. I got to eat dinner with one of my best friends Bronwen, that alone would have made my trip! Luke turned the grill on and we made yummy shish kabobs and grilled pineapple! If you are ever in the mood for a BBQ let us know we perfected our pineapple! There is nothing better than a weekend get away!

What a Weekend

Its the beginning of the week  and everyone knows what that means... story time!
From the start Luke would never tell me what we would do for date night until we arrived at the planned destination. On Friday Luke took me to Sea Salt, a nice Italian restaurant in Salt Lake. I have been trying to get him to go with me for months, so, you could imagine my excitement when we pulled up. Dinner was delicious! After dinner we drove around Salt Lake and pulled up to the Hilton hotel. We parked under ground and took the elevator to the seventeenth floor! Luke booked a room for the night, it was so fun! on Saturday we had a lovely breakfast at the Cheesecake Factory and went shopping at City Creek. Later that night we went to a Chinese restaurant with my family, it was the best Chinese I have ever had. later that night we went on a double date with Karli and Taylor. We went to the haunted forest in American Fork, I was scared out of my mind! I hid behind Luke the whole time... The few times I looked up someone was either in my face or chasing me with a chainsaw! It took us about an hour to get through the haunted forest, we all had a blast, I highly recommend going to a haunted house. On Sunday Luke and I went to church then spent the afternoon cleaning our house and sorting out our futures. We still have alot of decisions to make but at least we figured out that Luke can travel in and out of the country while his green card is being processed #hemarriedmeforagreencard. Well needless to say we had a fantastic weekend. I love Lukes surprise dates but not as much as I love Luke!

Date night:)

Hi everyone let me introduce us... the Walkers
For starters, Luke is from Peterborough England (its just north of London). He has the most beautiful accent in the world! I tell people its not what won me over, but lets be honest it helped ;), Luke served a full time LDS mission in the London South Mission. He loves playing football (soccer) and cannot live without starburst jelly beans or chick-fil-A. He hates when I squeeze to much toothpaste and it gets on the lid. He came to the United states for school. I (Rachel) am from Provo canyon, Utah. I have an American accent and Luke corrects my English all the time (its not toast its a piece of toast). I absolutely hate it when our Internet doesn't work, especially when we are trying to watch a Netflix movie. We were both attending Brigham Young University Idaho in the winter of 2012, when we fell head over heels for each other. Our good Friend Rosalie Noorda introduced us on a freezing cold Rexburg night. Luke didn't ask for my number for a while but he did ask me for my Heytell information (walkie-talkie app), he would Heytell me to ask me out on dates. Of course I saved all the Heytells and I am so glad I did :) five months later he asked me the most important question of my life...without hesitation I said yes:) three months later we were married! that is obviously the super condensed story, I am sure I will share more details in posts to come. I will tell you this, Luke and I fell in love in a hopeless place but Heavenly Father made it possible for us to stay together and for that I am truly grateful!

Luke and Rachel Walker together forever
